Workstation ergonomics is essential to wellness and productivity during work. If you deal with back or neck pain or the inability to sit for extended periods of time, you’ll need a solution that gets you away from your regular office set up. Utilizing a laptop desk stand may give you the relief you need. It sure has helped me!
What does ergonomics mean and what does it have to do with my comfort level during work?
ergonomics er·go·nom·ics (ûr’gə-nŏm’ĭks)
The applied science of equipment design, as for the workplace, intended to maximize productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort.

Now that we know we should arrange our seating and work equipment for optimal productivity and comfort, it’s time to show you, in detail, the desk alternative I chose.
This multi-functional laptop desk stand is great! I’m able to use it flat or adjust it to different angles–which means I can get my laptop screen up to eye-level, where it is supposed to be.
On the left side of the stand is the cooling fan–the main area the laptop rests upon. (There’s a cord included that attaches from the cooling fan to the computer.) On the right is the mouse pad, which is also adjustable.
You’ll also notice tabs on the front that fold out to keep the laptop in place.
Other features include:
- 4 USB ports
- USB light
- Compartments for pens and other supplies.
- Legs that are adjustable and unfold to a higher position–making it possible for you to stand in front of it, if desired.
- Dimensions listed on Amazon: 25 1/2″ w x 15 1/5″ h x 12 ” d (legs extended). NOTE: These dimensions are when the desk stand is at its fully extended height. I wanted to clarify because the table surface itself is approximately 21″ long and 12″ wide (or deep). The approximate height when legs are NOT fully extended is about 9 1/2″.
You can see the inside of the desk here where the compartments, and “guts” are located.
I haven’t found many negatives using this stand. Most of the parts are plastic, but they seem be pretty strong and durable.
