Have you run a website backup lately?
These days you can’t be too careful. From email and server issues to outright website takeovers, the attacks take on many forms, putting your information and a ton of hard work at risk. Protect yourself by updating and making backups of your website on a regular basis!
Cindy Bidar of The Educated VA has created a short, easy to understand video that shows you how to backup a WordPress website manually via cpanel or by using an automatic fee-based plugin.
If you don’t use a plugin to backup your website, it’s a great idea to add this task to your schedule–at least once a month. Busier blogs will need it more often.
TIP: Add it your Google Calendar and get a notification each time you need to back things up. It’s a GREAT way to get a reminder.
Following Cindy’s directions took me maybe 5 minutes to create a manual backup of my website. What a shame it would be (and SO frustrating) to lose all your files, content, money, etc., by not taking the time to do such a quick simple thing as backing up your website!
Let’s hear it in the comments! How long has it been since you backed up your site?Have you ever been the victim of losing important information online due to a hacker or other issue?
