Often while trying to work on my computer, I’ve gotten distracted or become overwhelmed by having so many tabs open in a browser.
To help focus and improve productivity, I’ve been practicing some essential “tricks” or tools that are helping me get more done in less time.
I first heard of these “tricks” from Lynn Terry of ClickNewz. Lynn’s been in business online for 17 years and knows her stuff. In one of her recent articles, Simple Browser Tricks to Increase Productivity, Lynn demonstrates how to create work folders or “workmarks” (as she calls them) using her bookmark toolbar. (By limiting what you see in your work folder, you are less apt to get side-tracked.) Another suggestion from the article is to utilize two different browsers, such as Chrome and Firefox.
Utilizing two browsers is a time-saver and a particularly helpful productivity tool if you have more than one online identity (ie. a business and a niche website), especially when you need to access separate Google accounts without constantly having to log in and out.
These essential time-saving tools are a major part of of Lynn’s “Get in, get it done, and get out” philosophy. We DO have lives beyond business, right?!
After almost two decades of internet marketing, this is not all Lynn has in her “bag of tricks!” Just recently she created a product that reveals MANY more productivity solutions for online business success. It’s called the Niche Success Blueprint (NSB), a 52 week training program that takes you step by step–from start to profit. (This is not a get-rich-quick program!)
I’m working my way through NSB, one module at a time, so you will begin to notice subtle and not so subtle changes as I progress. You see, another part of Lynn’s business philosophy is to implement as you go and get things done in time chunks (both of which I am also practicing).
These are tried and true methods for immediate use. When I’m done reading a module I’m not left wondering, “Now what?” In fact, by the time I’ve finished reading, I’ve already completed most of Lynn’s suggestions (otherwise known as “homework”). This is a “get your hands dirty” program that demands ACTION! (Okay, so she isn’t a dictator or anything, but she highly encourages IMPLEMENTATION!)
So, if you’re looking for a couple quick tips to improve your productivity see Lynn’s post here.
